Addo Elephant National Park is the third biggest reserve in South Africa at approximately 200000 hectares. The animals are in an entirely wild habitat and the Addo Elephants are renowned for being 'Gentle Giants'. They are usually quite calm, allowing for great close-up viewing and excellent photo opportunities. It is the only 'Big 7' Reserve in the World. The Park has incorporated a Marine Protected Area where, on a Marine Safari, you could see the Southern Right Whale (seasonal) & Great White Shark as well as the African Penguin and Bottlenose Dolphins. Combine this with the 'Big 5', Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard at the main park and it is now known as a 'Big 7' Reserve. The Park also boasts 5 of the 7 biomes in South Africa.
