Zanzibar Tours & Activities 2023

Stone Town is the oldest part of Zanzibar and Freddie’ Mercury’s birthplace. With beautiful architecture, winding alleyways, wonderful cuisine and traditional markets, Stone Town is well worth a visit.  Wander at your leisure or take a guided tour for an insight into the historic buildings. Whilst Stone Town has spice markets, for the real insight into the spice history, visit a Spice Plantation where you will have the opportunity to pick, smell, and savour fruits and spices which you have probably never seen on supermarket shelves.  The Jozani Forest is home to the red Colombus monkey and the even rarer Sykes monkey, as well as a wide variety of bird species.   There is an excellent nature trail showcasing Zanzibar’s impressive flora and fauna, most of which are an amazing source of natural remedies.   Prison Island is a 30-minute boat ride from Stone Town and home of the protected giant tortoises.  There is also a small beach here where there is an opportunity to sunbathe and snorkel.     If you want to spend a marvellous day out at sea, a Sand Bank tour or Safari Blue cruise won’t disappoint and honestly, what would any visit to Zanzibar be without a Sunset Cruise on a traditional dhow?
